treatment approach

I provide individual and small group therapy to adults and teens ages 18+ from a client-centered, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach. I incorporate elements of several evidence-based therapeutic modalities in order to tailor your treatment specifically to you and your needs. My approaches include:

  • Lifespan Integration

  • Attachment-Based Therapy

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

  • Psychedelic Integration Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Feminist Therapy

  • Mindfulness

  • Polyvagal Theory

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy

I work from a social justice oriented, anti-oppressive and anti-racist lens. I am affirming of and allied with BIPOC, AAPI and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I also believe in weight inclusive, respectful health care, working from a Health At Every Size perspective. In these areas, I’m continuing to educate myself about how to be an ally of marginalized communities as a cis-gender, thin privileged, white woman.

what is lifespan integration?

Lifespan Integration is a gentle, body-based therapy which helps to integrate memories and trauma, healing without re-traumatizing.

Specialties

  • religious abuse & faith deconstruction

Maybe you identify as an ex-evangelical like me, have left another religious community, or are just wanting more support in an area related to spirituality or deconstruction. We may explore how your beliefs impact your identity or work through struggles related to abuse or harmful religion. I approach treatment of these issues with a trauma-informed perspective and provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to reclaim this part of yourself.

  • Anxiety

Feelings of anxiety are universal to all of us. Left unchecked, the chronic tension, worry, fear, and stress can impact day-to-day functioning. Work, school, relationships, social media, a worldwide pandemic- all of these things can influence our bodies’ response to stressors. When these feelings become too much, it can be helpful to seek extra support. In our work together, this may look like learning how to listen to your needs, caring for your body in the present moment, and developing healthy ways to cope with stress.

  • trauma

You’re a survivor. Perhaps you’ve lived through a very distressing event and struggling to make sense of the aftermath. Maybe you had a difficult childhood or experienced an abusive relationship. Your body is telling you something as you are navigating the pain of a whole range of emotions, hyper-vigilance, difficulty sleeping, feeling triggered, or disconnected from life. Traumatic things that happen to us don’t always resolve by themselves. They continue to show up in our bodies, impacting our mental and physical health. Trauma-informed care can help to alleviate the things you are experiencing.

  • depression

Depression is a prevalent mental health issue in today’s world that affects how you feel, your thoughts, and actions. The overwhelming sadness and lack of motivation can be debilitating, causing a loss of interest in your daily life. You are not alone. Reach out and we can begin to uncover where these patterns began. There is hope and things can get better.

  • self esteem

The ways we feel about ourselves has a huge impact on our lives and relationships. If you are struggling in this area, I would love to help empower you to live into your fullest, most authentic self. Together, we can explore your values, what’s really important to you, and help you live in congruence with your values. Let’s get to know you and all of your uniqueness.

  • Life Transitions

We encounter a lot of change throughout our lifetime. Navigating these changes is not always easy. Whether you’re experiencing a loss, starting a new stage of life, or trying to adjust to changing life circumstances, I can provide a space of support and carry the burden alongside you.
